Frequently Asked Questions

How will I receive therapy?

At the moment, our therapeutic sessions are all conducted virtually via video telehealth. This is done to ensure maximum comfort and safety for all clients.

What are the rates and will my insurance cover my visit?

Fees are typically  $225 per session. For accurate rate information, it is best to contact us.

Dr. Jamison is currently in network with Aetna health insurance.

If you carry a different insurance plan, sessions may be partially reimbursed if your plan includes coverage for "out-of-network" mental health professionals. Statements (known as "superbills") can be provided to you, so that you may request reimbursement from your insurance provider. Please check your insurance coverage carefully.

Questions to ask your insurance company: Does my plan cover mental health services? How much of the cost is covered for out-of-network providers? How much is my deductible and has it been met yet?

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that things happen and at times, you may need to reschedule or cancel your appointment. Please provide 24 hours notice of cancellation. If a cancellation request is received within 24 hours of an appointment, you will be charged full price for the session.

What sort of payment methods are accepted?

We accept credit and debit cards, as well as HSA and FSA cards.

What is insomnia and how do I know if I have it?

We all have a bad night from time to time, and there are a number of medical conditions and life circumstances that can also disrupt sleep. If you experience poor sleep multiple times a week for at least a few weeks, you might have insomnia. Only a licensed provider can diagnose you - contact us to schedule an evaluation.

How much treatment do I need?

CBTI is designed to be a short-term treatment. However, it really depends on the individual and their needs.

What if I have other problems besides insomnia?

For many people, insomnia is one symptom of a larger problem, such as anxiety,  depression, or PTSD. Dr. Jamison offers comprehensive psychotherapy services, including treatment for other challenges in life. See the Other Therapy section of this website for more information.

Research shows that CBTI can help people sleep better, even if they have other diagnoses. In fact, some people find that improving their sleep first can help pave the way to take on other challenges because they have more energy.

How would CBTI help me?

While drugs and other treatments may work for some individuals, they often have unwanted side effects or only offer short-term solutions. CBTI helps you identify sleep-interfering thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and helps you change them to get  lifelong sleep. See the About CBTI section for more information about this treatment.
